6 years later

Six years ago, this weekend, I was getting married! I think back on that day, and remember how excited I was to be marrying DJ. He is such an amazing husband and father. He puts up with so much from me and from our girls. He is so supportive, and helps me to realize that no matter how difficult things may seem, we'll get through them.

Our marriage has already been through so many ups and downs, but not because of typical marital problems that some may think of, but because of everything that we go through year after year. In six years, we have lived in four states, seven houses, and have had two daughters. It's a whirlwind surviving it all, and as soon as we get settled, we move again. I think this past year has tested us in so many ways, and it's such a blessing to know that we survived it.
My parents came up this past weekend, so we could celebrate Christmas with them, and to also give DJ and I a much needed date night. He and I enjoyed dinner at Bonefish Grill, and then we drove all around T-town. We use to love to just get in the car and drive and explore, but we haven't been able to since we moved here. G gets too bored, and MC hates the car seat. It was so nice spending time with just the two of us, although we both agreed that dinner was much quieter than it usually is!
G asks me where she was when mommy and daddy got married. She wanted to know who watched her while we had our wedding. It's been difficult to explain to her that she wasn't always here and that there was a time in our lives without her. She's also been begging to watch our wedding, as she's somewhat fascinated with them, so I finally convinced DJ to take our VHS wedding tapes, and transfer them to DVD!

He and I watched our wedding last night, but G was already in bed.... maybe I'll have her watch it this week.
We spent today hanging out with the girls. DJ had daddy duty while I went to the gym, and this evening we had a bowl meeting about our trip next week.
I don't think I could imagine our lives any differently than what we are living right now. We spent our honeymoon at a bowl game, and we're going back to another (our 4th in fact), and we have two beautiful, precious gifts from God. Everyday, I know that I am so blessed, and i'm so thankful for my marriage and my girls.
